Senior Manager – Strategy and Business Planning
Mr. Benny Ng has 10 years of experience, mainly in the FMCG and supply chain industries. Mr. Ng is highly experienced of global end-to-end supply chain management. Throughout the years, he has gained extensive international business management exposures across multiple countries.
Mr. Ng recently joined L Brands, a Fortune 500 specialty retailing company. Its flagship brands include Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. He is responsible for the Strategy and Business Planning in the regional office.
Before joining L Brands, Mr. Ng was General Manager at Li & Fung, one of the largest publicly-traded supply chain services companies in the world. He started his early career with Diageo, an industry leader in alcoholic beverage with an outstanding collection of brands across spirits, beer and wine categories.

1. What were you doing before your embarked on your MBA journey?
Before the MBA journey, I was working at Diageo, a UK listed global company owns multiple outstanding alcoholic brands. I was working at various supply chain functions in few countries in Asia and Europe. My last role with Diageo was a Global Supply Project Manager at a bottling plant in Diageo Korea. At that period of time, I was overseeing a special project by moving a brand production from another country to Korea, for selling the products in Japan. By completing the project, the shipment lead-time was reduced, the production cost was lowered and the product quality was improved.
2. What are you doing now? Did your MBA help in the transition and change?
In 2016, I joined L Brands, a Fortune 500 specialty retail company. Its flagship brands include Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. I am responsible for the Strategy and Business Planning in the regional office, which is located in Hong Kong.
By taking HKUST MBA program, I have further developed not only the commercial acumen, but also the capabilities to evaluate the businesses and the industry in a holistic strategic way. I am very enjoyable to work closely with the executives from the cross functional teams include Finance, HR, IT, Logistics, Operations and the business units for exploring opportunities, streamlining the existing processes and ultimately creating value to the shareholders and the consumers.
